SNAP - WrapUP OPENING QUESTIONS: None Today OBJECTIVES: WORD FOR TODAY:
TIPS O' THE DAY: 1) ALWAYS have a 'clear' button ( 2) You can also 'delete' a script by dragging it off the scripting area 3) If you know the name of a block but can't remember where it is, use the ALWAYS helpful ctrl-F key (that works on web sites AND pdf documents by the way) 4) How can you *duplicate* a script or part of a script (this will be VERY helpful in today's lab) 5) Always a good idea to have an x 'go to 0' and a y 'go to 0' to re-center your sprite if it get's lost 6) Right Mouse click on the stage and select 'show all' to bring sprite(s) back WORK O' THE DAY: Let's review our tests and also make sure that folks who weren't here before the break can take their tests too. ═══════════════════════════ We had some trouble getting our code shared for the test before the break. Please work with your team to make sure you know how to do that (even if you already submitted your work before the break) ═══════════════════════════ Senseis & Rookies - We have a number of folks who have a fairly solid understanding of writing code. We have a number of folks who haven't coded at all. That can be a wee bit of a challenge, teaching-wise but I have what I hope will be an interesting solution for you. By way of background - I teach AP Computer Science Principles and we sometimes have that same sort of split there. What I do when that happens is make sure that each table group has a sensei. That person will assist the team with questions and such as we make our way through projects. They will also be working on an accelerated scale and be graded on that scale; but not to any sort of extreme. My goal is to make sure that everyone is comfortable with their workload, and no one feels blown away and no one feels bored. Let's discuss! ═══════════════════════════ For today: Senseis: Work with your team to firm up the idea of the ANSWER variable and how we use that in code. Towards that end, I'd like to see a version of everyone's SHAPE program at the end of class submitted HERE Senseis: You will start working on the brick wall coding project (I'll brief you separately) |
